The Player
Welcome
Welcome to the demo of the Player. This has been produced for a University project. The brief given was to design and build a portable music player, the design had to include the physical form and graphical interface.
To view and use this demo you will need Adobe Flash Player.
The Design
The Player is primarily designed around the slider mechanism that is located in the right side of the device, the user would use this to navigate the various menus and also to skip through a track (track scrolling with the slider not available in demo). The slider would be touch sensitive, similar to the scroll wheel found on Apple's iPod.
The music controls are located on the top of the device to allow easy navigation when the Player is in the users pocket. There would also be a controller on the headphones cord (not shown in demo), this would have one button and would control the music depending on the number of presses:
- One click - Play/Pause
- Two Clicks - Track Forward
- Three Clicks - Track Back
There would also be a volume control on the headphone cord represented by an analogue wheel.
The headphone port is located on the left side of the Player, which can be seen in the image to the right and on the demo above. When the headphones are plugged in they would sit flush with the device, this reduces the risk of the user damaging the cord or connector.
